Art pop icon Jean-Michel Basquiat's painting 'Victor 25448' will be sold at the Phillips Auction.
Before his death in 1988, the painting was displayed in Basquiat's last solo exhibition at New York's Vrej Baghoomian Gallery. The artwork features graphics of signs found in Henry Dreyfuss's 1975 Symbol Soundtrack. The word "IDEAL" is painted across the center of the painting. The Victor 25448 has a pre-sale estimate between $8 million to $12 million. A percentage of the proceeds will benefit the Art for Justice Fund. The auction will take place on July 2 on Phillip's website!
