Disney and 20th Century's films Free Guy and Paw Patrol are remaining to hit big in box office.
Despite the pandemic, action-comedy Free Guy starring Ryan Reynolds scored $19 million which the film stays No. 1. With Shawn Levy as the director, Free Guy is about a bank teller who discovers he's actually a background player in an open-world video game, he decides to become the hero of his own story -- one that he can rewrite himself. In a world where there's no limits, he's determined to save the day his way before it's too late, and maybe find a little romance with the coder who conceived him. The movie earned $111.9 million worldwide.
Paramount's children movie PAW Patrol: The Movie opened in box office with $13 million domestically on August 20. The kids TV show turn movie is based about when their biggest rival, Humdinger, starts wreaking havoc as the mayor of Adventure City, Ryder and everyone's favorite heroic pups kick into high gear to face the challenge. Armed with exciting new gadgets and gear, the PAW Patrol joins forces with a savvy dachshund to save the citizens of Adventure City.
Directed by Cal Brunker, PAW Patrol: The Movie stars Kim Kardashian, Marsai Martin, Iain Armitage, Randall Park and Tyler Perry. Paw Patrol earned $12.8 million from 33 locations for a global income of $34.5 million.
