Due to the coronavirus, auctions houses and museums have transition fully to online. Auction powerhouse Sotheby received the highest-ever online auction record with its sale in London. Sotheby's Hong Kong launches a series of pop-up online auctions that will be fast-paced than a regular art online auction.
In May, Sotheby will be presenting the "Manga" which is the largest Manga assemblaga ever to be offered in Hong Kong. The auction features 60 drawings and original Animation Celluloid Pictures from iconic cartoon sitcoms such as Dragon Ball Z, Pokemon, Astro Boy, and more. The drawings were created by Studio Ghibli and Toei Animation. You can expect the will be launch on May 4 on Sotheby's website!
Surveillance footage shows thief stealing the iconic Vincent van Gogh's painting The Parsonage Garden at Nuenen in Spring, which was made in 1884. Cameras showed the suspect arrived at the location on a motorbike before committing the robbery on March 30. The Singer Laren museum where the art was displayed was closed due to the coronavirus.
